Challenge

Hyperquery needed a product design partner to accelerate product demand and growth

Robert Yi, Hyperquery's Co-Founder and CTO, knew that the full potential of Hyperquery couldn't be realized without a killer product design strategy to grow its core product.

To effectively scale Hyperquery's features and design system, Robert and the team had two goals: fill the product initiatives with quality designs and improve the product's branding to stand out from big competitors. Finding the right product design partner would help Hyperquery achieve those goals, and Robert had a specific list of requirements:

Full-service execution. Hyperquery wanted a product designer that could do it all: increase customer success metrics, strategize feature improvements, and execute on the design initiatives. The end product had to be clear, powerful, and aesthetic.

Reliable diligence. Hyperquery needed a product design partner that didn't require micromanagement from his team. They needed to trust their chosen agency to make smart decisions.

Superior expertise and professionalism. The ideal partner for Hyperquery would have deep expertise in designing for complex products and a track record of generating tangible results.

End-to-end product ownership. Hyperquery's stakeholders wanted a designer who could own the whole product design process, from defining the initiatives, designing the interfaces, and shipping the work with the in-house engineers.

Hyperquery knew the bar was set high, but they also knew the right product design partner could achieve those goals.

"We needed a designer that would own design projects from end-to-end without having us spend hours micromanaging. That's exactly what Charles delivers."

Solution

Charles deployed a robust design strategy from design system to product rebrand

Hyperquery initially relied on Charles to match their growing product feature demand and growth after raising their pre-seed round. Robert quickly scaled up the engagement after seeing the performances.

Collaborating on the product was a breeze since processes and systems had already been established. Together, Hyperquery and Charles built a more powerful data analytics product and started shipping immediately to their users.

They began improving the design system needed for the designers and engineers to build faster and more impactful experiences: data sources, dashboards, team spaces, reports, and data visualizations. The design work evolved overtime into a product rebrand to build trust quickly and accelerate conversions.

"Charles's depth of industry expertise, spanning from data to AI, is impressive - and it shows."

"Charles is a true embedded product designer - and takes matters into their own hands to constantly set the design bar higher. Very few designers have this level of aesthetic and ownership - and that's exactly what separates Charles from the crowd"
